SCRIPTURE EXCERPTS
James 4:13–17 13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16 Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil.
17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Proverbs 21:5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, He is mighty in power; His knowledge and understanding have no limit.
Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end, I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
Psalm 31:14-15 “14 I am trusting you, O Lord, ‘You are my God!’ 15 My time and future are in your hands.”
Matthew 22:36–40 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Ephesians 5:25 25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.
